Over 18 years in India, Asia and Australia in digital and ATL agencies have given me a global view on the future of consumer brand relationships. The rise of digital and social in particular has forced us to evolve from being a prop based advertising model to more of a purpose based advertising model. Consumers want to know how brands can add value to their lives and they want to participate in that conversation.
In other words to be a number one consumer brand, brands now need to look inwards and rediscover their reason for being. Trust and authenticity are the most valued qualities for today's advertising era. Because when we stop selling, they will start listening.
